Treadmill Belt Friction - can Damage Your Treadmill ! Ref: BELTFRICTION-B
You should replace you treadmill belt once every two years with regular use. Clean the bed 4 times each year, and lube a minimum of 4 times each year.
This short video will explain belt/deck friction. Best seen on Hi Speed line at 256k. Slower modems must first download and then view. Allow 2-3 minutes or longer for the download. View off line.

Treadmill belt slippage can be a problem if not corrected right away. View this video on how you might correct this problem. Do not over tighten you belt. An over tighten belt can effect the motor and electronics.

Treadmill Motor Overload. This could mean a bad PWM board or overload condition. See information on belt friction. View this video on how you might approach this test. You should attempt to determine what made the motor fail. Remember, there is a cause, and it must be repaired, otherwise you risk motor failure again. Maintenance is the leading cause of failure. Belts and beds need to be lubed and changed . Lube every 3 months, and change the walking belt every 2 years. Beds should be replaced when they show excessive wear in the middle areas.
